“I am writing for myself and for strangers” -Gertrude Stein
By way of introduction, here’s a revival of a long dead format.
Who the fuck are you?
I’m Todd. I read a bunch, and have thoughts that don’t fit on social media in a way I find satisfying. So I thought I would start a blog. We shall see how long it lasts, as I have started blogs before. I also play the ukulele, have made (and occasionally still make) electronic music, and listen to a whole lot of music. Sometimes these things intersect, sometimes they do not.
What the hell is this?
It’s a site where I write about stuff I am reading or have read or whatever. Originally, I had planned to re-read all of Kurt Vonnegut’s novels in a row and blog about them one at a time, but I got distracted. I get distracted.
Why the hell should I care?
Did anyone tell you that you should? There are probably a lot more qualified people out there who write about this sort of thing. Some of them may even have degrees. I’d call this a public reading journal.
Where the fuck do you get your information from?
A lot of it is stuff I remember. If I am directly quoting something, I’ll try and provide a reference. If I am half-remembering something, I will try and indicate that. If I can remember the source, I’ll mention it. This isn’t a scholarly journal, however, so…
If you spot a horrible mistake, email me at toddbert@thelithole.com and I will take a look and see if something needs correcting. If it does, I will correct it in some fashion.
What’s with all the goddamned swearing?
It’s a bad habit. Sorry.
